Our home did not begin as nourishing. We ate like average Americans until a postpartum case of severe and painful cystic acne stopped me (Lisa) in my tracks. Since I was nursing at the time, I knew I had to be careful about treating my angry skin with the chemicals that my medical doctors and dermatologists were offering. And so began the seemingly endless quest for answers...complete with countless hours of research, months of sleepless nights, and a gradual shift in my understanding of the human body, particularly as it relates to nutrition.

We've taken many baby steps since day one (and some giant ones), and we are now a family that lives and thrives on nourishing whole foods. Through adjusting the foods in our diet, we have been able to address a variety of health concerns as a family, including acne, asthma, yeast imbalance, eczema, infertility, and more. We are firm believers that God has filled His creation with so many means of achieving natural wellness and healing. It begins with the food we eat, but doesn't end there! The world of spices, herbs, and other plants has continued to open up as we've learned more and more about it.

​Sharing the things that I have learned with others brings me so much joy and excitement. I always welcome conversations on the human body, nutrition, natural remedies, GI issues, and the list goes on. God uses the experiences of one to encourage or challenge another, and I've been blessed to be on both ends of that equation. Fermentation starters from my kitchen now reside in thousands of other homes, and God gets all the glory for that! May He continue to use this broken vessel, in all her imperfection, to make a difference for someone...as we all learn and grow together.
